Unforgettable Wine Tours

Touch The Terroir

For me, wine has never been just about what is in the glass. It is about place.

A great wine tells the story of where it comes from—the soil beneath the vines, the slope of the land, the climate, the people who farm it, the traditions of the region, and the food that has evolved beside it over generations. We often use the word terroir to describe this sense of place, but terroir is something you understand far more deeply when you are actually there.

That is what these journeys are about.

The goal is not simply to visit wineries, taste beautiful wines, and move on to the next stop. It is to become immersed in a region—to walk through the vineyards, feel the soil, see how the landscape changes from one village to the next, meet the people who tend the vines, and sit at the table with the foods that belong naturally beside those wines.

A bottle opened thousands of miles from where it was made can be wonderful, but it can never tell the entire story on its own. Drink that same wine overlooking the vineyard where the grapes were grown, alongside a dish prepared with ingredients from the surrounding countryside, and suddenly the wine begins to make sense in a completely different way.

You understand why the acidity is there. Why the wine has a certain freshness, minerality, richness, or restraint. You begin to see how climate and geography shape what is in your glass. Just as importantly, you begin to understand why the local cuisine developed the way it did and why certain wines and foods have been enjoyed together for centuries.

That connection between wine, food, culture, and landscape is at the heart of every trip.

These tours are designed to slow things down and allow us to experience a destination rather than simply pass through it. We may spend time with a winemaker in a cellar that has been used by generations of the same family, walk a vineyard that most visitors would never see, enjoy lunch in a small village, or taste a wine beside the very vines that produced it.

Those moments are often where the greatest understanding happens.

My hope is that you return home not only remembering the wines you tasted, but understanding them in a new way. You will remember the road that led to the vineyard, the smell of the cellar, the meal served beside the wine, the conversation with the winemaker, and the landscape surrounding you.

And the next time you open that bottle at home, it will no longer be just a wine.

It will be a place you remember.

These journeys are about discovering wine through the people, food, traditions, and landscapes that created it—and sharing those experiences together in a way that is personal, relaxed, and unforgettable.
